Talking about trends means more than pointing to a fleeting aesthetic. When analyzed through data, expert knowledge, and the experience of those who design spaces, trends become a useful compass for anticipating how we will inhabit work environments in the coming years. In this regard, the The New Habitat 26/27 report, developed by APE Grupo together with Future-a, points—among other aspects—to three key axes: connection, concentration, and well-being.
Office trends 2026
23 December, 2025
The office model driven by remote work, decentralization, and flexibility now encounters a new need: to recover the physical experience of shared space without giving up moments of individual focus. The workplace is, in itself, a strategic tool; therefore, addressing these diverse and evolving uses is essential for architects and interior designers.
Energizing collaboration.
Hybrid and modular spaces, equipped with specific structures and tools, are becoming fundamental settings for collaboration—even in contexts where on-site and remote teams coexist. Collaboration is a core pillar of contemporary organizations, but spaces must enable it to be effective, productive, and sustainable over time.
Our table collections, such as Foro or Trestle, with their wide range of dimensions and the possibility of large formats, foster interaction both in meeting rooms and shared areas. The quality and warmth of the materials, together with the option to integrate electrification systems, support productive encounters in increasingly technology-driven environments.
From a more flexible and modular perspective, the Season collection combines sofas and poufs, allowing for dynamic, reconfigurable spaces that adapt to different moments of use and encourage informal meetings.
Reclaiming concentration.
The opening up of spaces, the removal of walls, and the proliferation of unassigned areas have highlighted a growing lack of places dedicated to concentration. For many people, this absence of suitable spaces makes remote work the preferred option when focus and calm are required. In response, current projects are beginning to incorporate more personal areas where concentration is ensured.
The Cubow and Manto collections address this need with versatile pieces that combine comfort and functionality. Designed to be placed in open areas as well as in individual rooms or private offices, these armchairs can be configured with writing tablets or concealed castors, becoming key solutions for focused work.
The quality, comfort, and wide range of configurations offered by seating collections such as Noha, Maarten, Aleta, or Perxa allow them to be easily integrated into a variety of office spaces, especially those designed to support concentration and comfort during long periods of use.
The trends ahead reflect balanced offices where people—their needs and their well-being—are at the center. An approach that confirms how thoughtful, well-applied design can be a fundamental ally in creating more human, efficient, and enduring work environments.
