Manto: freedom of movement

17 September, 2025

From a solid base rises a seat that embraces and welcomes, while opening its edges to invite use. This is Manto, the new lounge chair by Viccarbe in collaboration with designer Monica Armani.

This first project with the Italian creator plays with duality, both in its form and in its function. The elegance of its silhouette conceals a generous seat that offers complete freedom of movement, allowing for both an upright posture and more relaxed positions, always with outstanding comfort.

Manto: freedom of movement

Manto is defined by a rounded and balanced backrest that contrasts with the straight geometry of its base, resulting in a piece with architectural proportions and monumental presence. Its silhouette allows it to stand out in any setting, while seamlessly integrating into collective environments such as halls, receptions, restaurants, or cafés, as well as more private spaces such as offices and corners of the home. In all of them, the combination of wood and upholstery engages in dialogue with the interior design without compromising the comfort that defines the collection.

Manto rises with elegance, yet invites a relaxed experience. The lounge chair is available in the full range of Viccarbe fabrics, which combined with our wood finishes, allow it to adapt to a wide variety of styles and projects. Options include fixed base, swivel, or concealed casters, ensuring versatility of use. In all its variants, Manto can also include a practical writing tablet, available on either the right or left side.

The backrest of Manto deserves special mention for the way the fabric emerges delicately from its edge, revealing two universes: the rigid exterior in oak plywood, and the soft, inviting interior that warmly embraces the user. The three-piece pattern and carefully configured foams, designed to maximize comfort, culminate in seams that flow organically from the sides toward the center, creating a natural transition between smooth areas and gentle folds in the upholstery.

With its very name, Manto—in both Italian and Spanish—suggests shelter, comfort, and well-being. And that is precisely what Monica Armani brings with this new collection for Viccarbe.
