Introducing the new Funda Bold in Munich with Stefan Diez

The past Thursday 15th September we launched the new Funda Bold at Steelcase’s LINC (Learning and Innovation Center) in Munich. With this new piece, Viccarbe and Stefan Diez expand their Funda collection to continue propose innovative collaborative furniture designs for sustainable interiors.

In Spanish, the word ‘Bold’ has several meanings. It can speak of intensity, bold typographies, courage, or bravery. This is how the new and versatile Funda Bold armchair designed by Viccarbe in collaboration with Stefan Diez presents itself. Bold, suggestive and extremely comfortable. A collection of oversize seats with matching ottoman. Its large silhouette and generous proportions are created for relaxation and promoting the ‘slow work’ trend in offices, homes, and in-between spaces.

Maintaining the sustainable philosophy of the Funda range, this design by Stefan Diez is created to last over time. Through an innovative production process, the armchair’s components are reduced to two: its black or white steel frame and its large, upholstered seat, easily replaceable after wear and tear. In this way, the environmental impact is minimized, and circular economy is promoted, as both parts can be recycled independently.

The Funda Bold armchair design represents the new era of huge comfort. Funda Bold promises to be roomy without losing an ounce of lightness. Its construction system is formed by a single steel tube that makes the chair light and allows it to be easily transported. This tube is enveloped by the inner technical fabric and serves as a comfortable and secure support for the user.

This is the new commitment of the Valencian furniture firm Viccarbe in its journey to sustainability and great comfort. A collection of armchairs with curved and friendly shapes that follow the footsteps of the Funda family, comprising chair, armchair, bar stool and counter stool.
