Flex Living: a conversation on how we inhabit spaces

20 October, 2026

On 14 October, Viccarbe and Porcelanosa brought architects, interior designers and industry professionals together at the Porcelanosa showroom on Jorge Juan street in Valencia. The gathering, “El Flex Living“, opened a conversation on how interiors are adapting to new ways of living and working.

Homes that host the working day, offices that look more and more like a home, hotels that double as a place to work. The boundaries between uses are blurring, and interior design has to respond to that change.

Five perspectives on Flex Living

The round table, moderated by journalist Susana Ollero, brought together speakers who approach the subject from different angles: architecture and interior design, new residential models, real estate development and asset management.

The speakers were Juan Ranchal, partner and head of projects at Janfri & Ranchal; Araceli Martín-Navarro, president of Coword; María Ángeles Bartolomé, CEO of Grupo Ballester; architect Antonio Altarriba; and Ramón Monserrat of Grupo Collado.

Speakers and moderator held the conversation seated on Noha chairs, designed by Ludovica Serafini and Roberto Palomba for Viccarbe. A chair designed to adapt to different uses, from the workplace to the home or the hotel, in tune with the very theme of the evening.

From the studio, Juan Ranchal and Antonio Altarriba brought the designer’s perspective: how to create homes, offices and hospitality spaces able to change use without losing warmth, and what role materials and furniture play in that flexibility.

Araceli Martín-Navarro placed Flex Living within the framework of new residential models, such as coliving, cohousing and cosenior, which Coword has promoted since its founding. María Ángeles Bartolomé and Ramón Monserrat rounded off the debate from the perspective of real estate development and management: what the market demands today and how it translates into viable projects.

After the conversation, networking

After the debate, the evening gave way to networking: an informal professional exchange in which guests continued to share their views on the topics raised at the table. Food and drink accompanied the conversation.

Our thanks to Porcelanosa for opening the doors of its showroom and for co-hosting this gathering with us; to Susana Ollero for guiding the conversation and to the speakers for sharing their experience; and to everyone who joined us and, through their participation, made the evening such an enriching exchange.
